aftermarket oem belt - Erlandson belt Empty
PostSubject: Erlandson belt   aftermarket oem belt - Erlandson belt I_icon_minitimeSun Jun 26, 2016 12:36 pm

Erlandson G-Boost belt went in couple of days ago. I fashioned my own variator tool. Used an impact gun to take the nut off. Only needed the tool to set the torque. New Honda rollers. Probably will get DrPulley sliders next time. No test run yet. Will keep you posted.

All's well. Smooth take-offs, less rattling. I took it up to 130 km/h and everything sounds good. Saved some dough by doing it myself. Getting better at tackling small mechanical tasks. I did the Helix variator a few days ago: different set-up. I didn't set the ramp properly and had no clearance to put the outer drive face. Wrestled with that for a while, until my buddy showed up and pointed out that there was not enough of the shaft exposed. Took the variator off and discovered the ramp was sticking out too far. Pushed it in and everything fit. It is also a wet ( greased) set-up and it got a bit messy. The SWing is dry, much easier to keep the drive faces clean.
