| Today I noticed a small crack in my handlebar cover and decided to take it off and glue it. Upon doing so I noticed these two unused connectors. One which is clearly grounded and black and the other is red. Since I just moved back to North America and just bought the bike, I have no test light or multimeter so I have no idea if the red wire is powered or not. But does anyone know what these connectors are for? [img] [/img] |

| Looks like someone else was in there looking to power an accessory- definitely does not look factory (I had my bar covers off in the past and did not see what you have there).
A meter is cheap enough, but I’d be concerned about using it as a powered source (does it have a fused link?? Or is it directly wired to the battery??). To do it right, you may have to take some more of it apart (not difficult), and see what wire the prior owner tapped for power), then maybe disconnect the wire and tape it back together. |

| Thanks. I didn't think it would be factory due to the ground. Factory would not have grounded there when I think about it. I thought I'd ask though I guess I will try and trace it back I could possibly use a telecom/network wire trace toner on it and see where the sound comes out. Easier than unwinding all that tape. |
