| Is there a side stand “shoe” that will make the footprint of side stand larger hence safer to use on gravel and/or hot asphalt here in southern AZ. ? |

| G'day, I don't know about on your side of the Pond but on eBay here there’s a lot of CNC alloy side stand enlarger plates on sale. They're from sellers in China, reasonably priced, come in different colours, and come in two halves and screw together onto the side stand. In theory you might think a very practical accessory. You may be able to obtain one for a Silver Wing side stand foot, or for a Honda you know has the same side stand design. As I'm up early and enjoying my first coffee of the day, pull up a chair while I reminisce my own experiences. I've had two of them that the ads say fit the 2018 Forza 300. The first arrived and was beautifully manufactured, sadly one part wasn't machined correctly so the side stand foot didn't fit between them like the filling in a sandwich. I photographed the two halves, contacted the seller, and got an apologetic message and a refund. Soon afterwards I ordered another of a different design, this one was like slipping the side stand into a shoe and tightening it up. That seemed a good idea, only the weight of the Forza seemed to loosen it. I tried various things to keep it in place which worked for a while. It disappeared altogether one day and I can't say I missed it. I do have a couple of those cheapo plastic side stand plates that I've had for many years that you place on soft ground, there's one currently in my top box if I need it. They work and there's nothing to go wrong. As the vicar used to say in church after his sermon, “Here endeth the lesson” |

| Dont know about a side stand shoe but a small piece of wood or a piece of aluminium checker plate will fit under the side stand and then store under the seat or top box when not in use. At a push a crushed drinks can will do. |

| Having the 'shoe' on the end of a piece of cord helps you retrieve it before setting off without having to dismount. |

| I have a square of alloy checker plate generously given to me at a MZ rally in the 80's. TS and ETZ MZ's had a side stand on the rear wheel that was part of the rear axle spacer. A rather dodgy device that wasn't spring loaded and could cause grief if you forgot to raise it before riding off.
The Chinese made side stand shoes I mentioned earlier cost about a tenner, German BMW accessories specialists Wunderlich do a large range for BMW's. Whether any of them are suitable for Silver Wing I've no idea, but even if there was one that fitted, would you pay £45 or $75 for it?

| Not me I'm afraid, I made do for several years with a piece thick laminate flooring under the side stand, light enough to carry and did the job, never replaced it when it finally broke. |

| In my younger bike rally days you would drink the first tin of beer on the bike then use the tin under the stand. Most likely not a recommended approach for everyday living |

Well gee, if it’s got BMW on it it must be worth every bit of that $75. |

Well gee, if it’s got BMW on it it must be worth every bit of that $75. They have the Wunderlich logo on them, Touratech and SW- Motech also have two piece side stand extensions, similar in design and price. |

| As Meldrew suggested above the CNC aluminum feet are great. I have one on my Silver Wing and one on my Forza and love them. They also raise the scoot up a little on the stand, which is a good thing IMHO as the SWing always seemed to lean over a bit too much for my liking. One caveat though if you use one of these use Loctite on the screws as they will work loose other wise (ask me how I know this LOL).
In addition, on a long trip I carry a stand I made out of a metal coaster with a string and hole drilled in it for very unstable surfaces. |

| GHM-PM--Where did you purchase one to fit the SWing? Is there a part number? I agree that my SWing leans a bit further than is comfortable especially on any incline on that side. I have a rubber "foot" for soft surfaces or fresh blacktop. Thanks for the info..... |

Here is a link to an earlier discussion when I got mine. https://www.silverwing600.com/t10766-neat-pad-for-swing-sidestandNOTE the link to the older eBay post is no longer good. But the pad IS available if you do the search above. Good luck. |

| I have one and was searching but nothing listed for SW. GHM-PM you are right. Loctite those little screws. AND it will rub on lower cover but who can bend over that far. |

Loctite those little screws. AND it will rub on lower cover but who can bend over that far. The unit for the NC700 is a perfect fit. Mine has been on for over two years and no noticeable wear on lower cover. |

| The same Chinese eBay sellers make CNC alloy side/kickstand enlarger pads for that prong thing that you use to lower the side stand with your foot.
I wanted a side stand 'shoe' as a pure farkle, as I only use the side stand for getting on and off, and on increasing rarer occasions when I have to park on soft ground like a camp site.
I knew there was a bright red plastic cheapo pad I keep in my top box, I was quite surprised to find another one hidden behind the lining, a large black plastic oval freebie from the British bike mag 'Superbike'. |

| Here is a picture of the one installed on my Forza. The one I bought for the Silver Wing was silver, so shows less scratches. |

Sigh... If it's anything like the two badly fitting pieces of junk I bought for my Forza 300, it won't fit the 2018-2021 Forza either. |

| Don't misunderstand guys. The proper units fit great, but the stand is shaped differently on the newer Forza so will NOT fit on the previous model. It was my error and I tried to find someone over in the US that could use it but that model was not imported. At least I am only out 10 bucks. |
