Hi All,
I've pulled the front wheel off in preparation of pulling the forks off because the LH unit is leaking at the seal.  Was eyeballing the brake pads and was curious as to the wear limit on them.  Could not find it in my manual or maybe I was just over-looking it.  Couldn't find it on the site search engine either so now need to ask y'all if you could tell me what the limit is on the front brake pads.
Only 16000 miles so shouldn't need any replacement but thought I'd check.  Thanks for any help.

Do they have any grooves left? Most of the pads I've put in have grooves/lines down to the wear limit. I'm not sure but I think it might be 1/16"-3/32". If no one else answers before Tuesday when I can get to my service manual I'll look it up. It may be in the owner's manual too.

Hello DickO
Yes as previously stated the pads have three wear limit
indacaters (page 3-18 )of the service manual. If any part of the pad is down to one of the indicator they should be replaced. The pad material is about 3/8 thick when new. Howard

p.s. I replaced the front pads at 40,518 miles,I now have 55,000 on the rear.

Thanks guys...  I'll look a little closer and also check that page in the book.

Okay... following afternoon... Checked the brakes this next morning and could clearly see those three grooves in each pad. Yes, there must be a lot of wear left in those things. Everything looked very good. Thanks again for the info.
