2003 silverwing

i found a 2003 silverwing thats been setting in a garage for 2 years.the gentleman had a stroke.hes asking 2000 for it.the battery is shot.it has 8700 miles on it.i know i would have to drain the gas but are some other things i need to look for?the bike looks clean,no dent or scratches.tire are bad.any ideas on the cost of tires.

Below is a list of items I put together before I bought my 2003.  If you can review the maintenance records you will have a better idea of what has been done (or not).  If it were me I would also inspect and change out the final fluid and the coolant.  Get the VIN # and check to see if the recall work has been done, any dealer can look that up for you.

NADA has the average cost at $2060.00

Replacment items cost: (if you are a good shopper you can spend less).
Tires: $120-$140 (many choices you will have to do some tire searches and read opinions ie performance vs tread life).
Battery: $60-$80
Oil & Filter:about $20
Drive belt: $110-$130

The age, miles and time sitting idle are what needs to be considered.  If you can remove the battery and charge it and see what she sounds like while running.  All the electrics will be energized for inspection.
