| Ok, so i've been a member for a few months and have 1 complete silver start. New members are joining today and have the same rank. What gives? Am I missing something or doing something wrong folks? |

It has to do with the number of posts. The more you post the more silver stars. |

| Thanks for the reply all, but i beg to differ. The ranking system appears to be blown. That's it for this thread, no need to reply to this any more. I really dont dont care about the rank per say. I still enjoy the site very much and will continue to view it and contribute when i can. |

The number of stars is for the number of posts and not time that a member has been here. Since you have 25 posts now in order to get another star you would need to increase the number of your posts to 100. Also, the system will automatically assign the extra star when you reach the different milestones. It is not something a mod keeps track of and adds them.
So if you read the link that Dale provided you will understand how and why I set this up. Just for fun. |

No offense taken on my part. This one-way communication model is flawed and sometimes it requires a bit more diligence on the part of each participant, writer and reader. The search function is a tremendous feature that really helps. Doesn't grab all the posts, and the search string must be fairly simple, but it helps answer most questions.
