Jump start

So. If the bike did not start because of a dead battery, could you jump start it from a car bat. maybe with out having the engine running? affraid

I'd say *don't* start the car and disconnect the cables as soon as it will run on it's own. If you start the car, it's possible that the car's very large alternator could have a set point higher than the set point on the scooter's regulator, generating excess heat as the scooter tries to lower the car's voltage. If the car isn't running, that's not a problem. But you don't want to leave the jumper cables connected too long as the scoot's charging system isn't up to charging a car battery.

So, turn off the car, hook up the cables, start the scoot, disconnect the cables.

A car's electrical system is way too strong for boosting a motorcycle battery.
