PostSubject: Silver Wing Gas Gauge   Silver Wing Gas Gauge I_icon_minitimeFri May 24, 2013 9:09 pm

Any suggestion on my gas gauge that keeps moving from full to empty to 3/4's or 1/2 etc.

Open to suggestions.

The Service Manual says to remove the floorboard to access the the fuel pump/sending unit. Disconnect the 4 pin connector and use a jumper to short the Gray/Black and Green/Black terminals (on the wire harness side).

Turn the ignition switch ON. If the Gas Gauge does not come ON check for an open or short circuit in the wire harness. If the Gauge comes ON replace the fuel pump/sending unit. HTH
