2002 Fsc600 recall

Yesterday, when I took my 2002 Honda SWing to a Honda dealer for some preventative maintenance and he entered it into the "Honda System," a recall for the Center Stand appeared. It was a rather serious safety issue in that the weld on the stand may separate from the frame causing it to drop to the ground in front of the back wheel (which could be disastrous). I'm very glad this recall was still in the system. Fortunately it is going to be fixed at Honda's expense.

There is also a recall on the handlebars and the gas tank, IIRC.

Check with the dealer to make sure all three have been done. It applies to 2002 and 2003 models.

It also seems that it couldn't have been that serious. After all, your scooter is 10 years old and doesn't seem to have lost the center stand yet. I say don't be worried about it, but be sure all three recalls are taken care of.
