Having just changed the drive belt at 16000mls( thanks to jeffs pictures and Bigbirds video).I inspected the rollers and as far as i could see there was no excessive wear on them. My thought was, if rollers rotate in the thier action, then surely the wear will be spread all around the area of the roller. If you put sliders in isn't the same surface making contact with the moving parts all the time? Neutral

Limey,

Glad they both worked out for you. The rollers can get flat spots though. But I hear they usually last 25,000-30,000 miles. Even though they are 'rollers' they kind of slide back and forth.

Like Jeff indicated, stock round rollers will flatten over time. The DP Sliders are made of Proprietary Self-lubricated PA46 composite.

The term "roller" is really a misnomer. They don't roll. Even they slide, ergo the flat spots.

So as a general rule: I should figure on at the very least changing the rollers every other belt change with 16,000 miles for every belt change. Or just simply changing both together at every 16,000 miles if the extra twenty something dollars for the rollers is not a concern. That's the way I'd probably go; Doing everything at once.
I'm enjoying this forum. Super helpful, friendly, and easy to use. There is a high possibility of a Silverwing being parked next to the wifester's 400 Burg in 2013.

How many miles can you get with a set of sliders before replacing?

Where is the best place to buy Dr. Pulley Rollers?
The 26 gm ones seem to be a good compromise between acceleration and speed. Is there a specific size/number that fits the Silverwing?
thanks
