Finally got my 2006 abs SWing with 7000miles on the road, after bringing it home last month.

It needed new tires, front forks rebuilt and state inspection. I’ve had it for several weeks but the local Honda shop couldn’t get it in till yesterday and it wasn’t ready till today at noon. (I did an oil change, final drive oil change and replaced the brake fluid prior to taking it in. I ordered Speed Bleeders for it so I’ll bleed the brakes next week.)

I trailered it home and immediately went out on it. I just came back from an 80 mile ride with a friend who was on his Kawasaki Vulcan 650 sport cruiser. Mine had no trouble keeping up. But steering and leaning is just a little bit different from all the street bikes I’ve had, with no tank to hold onto with your knees while leaning into curves. It is a little - twitchier? Responds more quickly to the smallest steering inputs and weight transfers?

This isn’t a bad thing, just a little different, and I got used to it to the point I almost forgot about it by the end of the ride.

And the kit to convert the butt rest to a lower back rest/support was worth every penny! I’ve had back trouble riding bikes in the past due to herniated discs but no problem whatsoever after this ride. It’s like riding a Barcalounger!

But my overall first impression is that I really do like it. A lot!2006 SWing finally(!) on the road D28f6d10

Looking Good! What kind of back rest is that? I've been thinking of getting one.

Way to go! I've always had at least one motorcycle in the stable with the Silverwing. Currently have a 2007 Moto Guzzi Nevada. No matter what I'm riding I think "man that scooter is all I really need." Paul
