Lift Without A Lift Empty
PostSubject: Lift Without A Lift   Lift Without A Lift I_icon_minitimeFri Oct 25, 2024 4:18 pm

Hello again.  I was about to remove the front wheel on my '04 Swing in order to take it in to check out a slight wheel hop at speed. I looked underneath to see where I might place my floor jack, like I do on my Goldwing.  I realized there is a plastic belly pan, with no obvious way to remove it.  I have a Harbor Freight scissor lift, but I'm not sure that would make the job any easier.  I also have a service manual.  Is there a "simple" way to remove the front wheel? TIA

Ron in AZ

That black plastic grill fixes to a small metal subframe. Put the bike on the main stand and jack the front of bike up using a small piece of wood across that plastic grill to avoid point loads.
Once up removing the wheel is the same as any bike.
Search here or Google, copies of the manual are out there.
