| Anybody know what it is for?
There are two removable panels in the rear of the trunk. Behind the one on the left side of the bike, there is a 4 pin connector. I cut mine off when I was wiring my tail lights, thinking it was what I was looking for. Turns out it did not have the turn signal and brake light wires I was looking for.
Now I am wondering what it is for? |

| Well, under 'lights/meters/switches' in the 2002-2013 manual it looks like this but I don't know what the arrowed thing is. Mine is a 2001 model. ![4 pin connector behind trunk panel. Wiring10](https://i.servimg.com/u/f94/19/66/09/85/wiring10.jpg) It's not in the same area but, it could be a clue ![Suspect](https://2img.net/i/fa/i/smiles/suspect.gif) |

| If Honda offered a top box with lights, could it have been a lead for that? |

It has a 12 volt tap that goes on with ignition, but no brake or turn signal leads. Loosemarbles, the arrow looks like a lead to the see seat lock if there is one. The thing I'm talking about looks like the next gadget down. I'll check the harness diagram again. |

| ABS bikes had that extra harness. DLC data link connector. Connect the right pins and ABS light will blink out the fault codes. Never knew it was there but 1980-90's Honda cars used a similar system.
Old Honda's. Worked on a 1996 Prelude today. Forgot more about those cars than most will ever know. SW PGMFI is 1988 something Honda technology. BUT that was the best stuff Honda ever made solid and reliable parts lasted. SW 2002-13 but had those good parts on a bike. |
