2009 FSC600A9

I am removing the necessary bits to remove the rear wheel so that I can replace the rear tire.

Passenger side footrest is first, followed by the exhaust pipe. I would like to disconnect the electrical connection for the oxygen sensor, but cannot for the life of me figure out how to either get the connector off of the metal connector that is behind it, and/or, to separate the 2 pieces of the connector.

There is a tab (~1/4" wide) on the wide side of the connector (between the connector and the frame) which needs to be pressed IN toward the connector to release the connector from the frame tab so that it (the entire connector) can be slid UP (at ~45° angle) to release it from the frame tab. Once the connector assembly is free look for a tiny tab on the outside of the connector (opposite that first tab release) where the two plug halfs join. Push IN on that tiny tab (use a small flat blade screw driver) while pulling the two plug halfs apart. Pull the connector pieces, not the wires.

Sometimes it's easier to do if you remove the body panel so that you have a clear view of what you are doing.

But maybe you'll see that tiny tab straight away and be able to release it without first removing the connector assembly. HTH

Thank you for your quick reply. I thought there had to be a simple solution to the issue and so there was!

Managed to convince the connector to release with a little persuasion from a small flat bladed screwdriver.
