| Just got back from doing the tail of the Dragon plus 600 miles of mountain roads.
That will kick your butt big time. But am going back soon. |

| We go up to Maggie Valley, every time we come to America, which is usually about once every two years. Can't get enough of that area, although the "Tail of the Mouse"  is just a few gentle curves with not much in the way of views. Much better riding roads in the surrounding areas, but of course everyone needs to ride it once!!

| Very good roads in that area. It's been over 10 years since road the tail of dragon.
Hotel in Pigeon Forge for a few days end of Labor Day weekend everyone was leaving when we got there. PERFECT.
One morning valleys filled with fog but when we got up a little in elevation full sun and looking down was like a snow covered landscape. Never forget that!!!! Smokies.

| Next time try the Back of the Dragon. Virginia Hwy 16 (Marion to Tazewll VA). 3x longer than the Tail, just as technically challenging & fun, stunning views, minimal traffic and I didn't see one LEO over 4 days of riding there. If you like camping, I recommend Hungry Mother State Park at the start of Hwy 16 in Marion (they have cabins too). Lots of hotels and shopping in Marion. This area remains a hidden gem. |
