Claw of the Dragon

Bob and I went to Southwest Virginia last week.  We stayed in Wytheville.  It is is where I-77 and I-81 intersect. We stayed at the Best Western. This is where "The Claw of the Dragon" is located. There are five different loops you can ride. We rode 2100 miles to and from Chicago.  

It has everything sweepers, twisties, hairpins, scenery without the congestion.  The roads are well maintained with the exception of a couple of sections.  There are a lot of choices for lodging to choose from.  Camping is also available. It is close to Eastern TN, NC, and KY, and the Blue Ridge PKWY.

You can get maps from the Visitor Center in Witheville. You can go on line and look up Claw of the Dragon to get more info.

We were at the diner you goof. Lol

While we were down there staying at the BW there were 4 couples on HD's from Ontario. Also on the other side of the motel a group of about 10 Harley's rented out of Chicago to a group from Australia.

Never heard of "the claw" before but I Googled it to check it out. Looks great!

Thank you for sharing Cathy ... I think you just changed our route on our way down from Canada to the Nashville TN rally in September.
