| Hope someone can answer this. As you sit on your swing the right storage lid (the one without a keylock).
Mine has a fairly pronounced rattle and doesn't seat flush when pushed down and latch is engaged. I can't help but wonder if there is a rubber piece on the push in catch mechanism that is missing. Can someone verify if this is normal rattle or the fit/finish is just not that good.
I am hoping I have a small rubber isolation piece that is missing off mine.
Here is the oem part number I got off bike bandit

| Hi bud. Does yours have raised or flush lids ? I ask as I'm not sure if they both have the same catch, mine with flush lids doesn't rattle. |

| flush lids here. Look at yours when you get a chance and tell me if there is any rubber piece on the latch or is it all plastic to plastic latch connection. |

| 2005 here, plastic to plastic no rubber seen, tap to open push to close, no real effort for either operation. |

| The right cubby lid on my '03 was so insecure that it would pop open and dump the contents if I hit too severe of a bump. After losing my gas record journal on two occasions I finally changed the entire cubby assembly to the later model version with the secure latch.
Yeah, the black cubby wasn't a match for the Candy Red body panels so, eventually, I changed the left cubby lid to match the right side.
I saved the late model black right side cubby assembly when my '03 went to salvage. It's available if anyone is interested. PM me.
