How do I post a "THANKS" for a member

I have noticed a column where the number of THANKS is shown. How do I use this?

I think, select members and you can send them a message. Blue box under forum photo.

Try the + sign on the far right of the members post. There is a short line with a - under it to remove it.
The + should be straight across on the right side of the first line of the post.
