| Not sure, but I think that the battery in my 09, might be on its way out. What's your take on Gel batteries? Walmart has them on sale on their website.. Today is Friday, on Wednesday I took her out for a 100 mile ride, today I plugged in the Battery tender jr.today and have a steady red for about 30 minutes , then finally started blinking green. Does this sound normal? I've had bikes in the past, where within a couple of minutes, I was getting the blinking green meaning 80% charged after not riding for a week sometimes. Hopefully I posted this topic in the correct area...I'm still learning how to navigate the site. |

| It sounds like it's declining, how old its the battery? A volt meter would be handy to have to check it after it's fully charged wait say over night then check it to see how much it drops off. I have a lithiuim battery in my in mine, after a week it doesn't take more than 10 minuets before the battery tender goes to green. |

| Thanks Oldwingguy, not sure how old the battery is, As I just picked up the scooter a few days ago. I will try putting a volt meter on it like you suggested. Thanks for your advice. |

| I'd guess the battery is on its way out. They are cheap enough, I would just replace it. |

| I also have a Lithium Ion battery in my 08 SWing. It's almost 4 years old and has never given me any problems. I charge it about once a month during the winter just to keep it charged and ready
This is the one I have in my SWing: http://products.batterytender.com/Batteries/240-CCA-Lithium-Engine-Start-Battery.html
The price has gone up a bit since I purchased mine.
When I bought mine from my sister in Milton, FL it had been sitting under a tarp for two years. I trailered it home and put some new parts and TLC into it and got it running. I ordered a $25 battery from ebay hoping it would at least last the first year. That's about all it lasted too. That first winter I ordered this battery and put it in. I also have the Battery Tender Jr. to charge it with which works very well.
Just my two cents. |

| A few years ago I needed a battery for my Honda Reflex, but the stores around here had nothing under $100. Just for kicks I checked out Ebay and found a gel battery that fit my Reflex for $18 including free shipping! I thought what the hell, if I only get 1 year out of it it will be worth it. It worked perfectly for the next 3 years, and all I ever did was take it in the house in the winter, never charged it up. I sold the bike after I got my Silverwing, and for all I know it's still in there. I see they still have them on Ebay but they are a bit more money now. https://www.ebay.com/itm/YTZ12S-Battery-For-Honda-NSS250-PS250-FSC600-Reflex-Big-Ruckus-Silver-Wing-su/122687044684?hash=item1c90b7bc4c:g:aoUAAOSwAwdZ5H2Y&vxp=mtr |

| Thanks for the info, I wound up getting a gel battery from a bike store for 80.00...it was a nice day for riding, so I didn’t want to wait for it to come in the mail.. I guess you can say it was an expensive ride!! |

| You will get many good years from that low-maintenance gel. Enjoy. That expensive ride will give you years of more fun. |
