| Oil filter dirty....clogged up good pressure build up......can't get oot pressure build up lifts the valve....spring compressess oil gets out..... engine lives on Valve gets stuck......engine KA-BOOM! |

| So that explains that little bit of oil drops and the oil splatter in front of engine that most likely dribble down and under the engine? |

| nope. that may be a cam cover gasket........or head gasket leak I'd go looking...... the source of this evil. |

| The real question is your engine leaking oil ? Do you have to keep adding oil every time you check the oil level ? If the level is staying the same then you can't have much of a leak if any to worry about.
