| Driving today, a touring bike of some kind popped up in my rearview mirror. It caught my eye immediately because there were two low-to-the-deck square amber LED strobes with a very long delay and one pulse. Enough to catch your eye and make you stare to see if they flashed again in the rear-view.
When he was about 100" behind me the strobes sped up a little and alternated (not so much as to be distracting but again certainly caught my attention.
When he went to pass he held in my side mirror (presumeably to get my attention) and both strobes set off a really bright rapid flicker as he passed.
I can't imagine he was doing all this manually - has anyone ever seen this before? I'm pretty sure he's not going to be a SMIDSY victim anytime soon. |

| Bright flashing amber strobes on a vehicle other than emergency or police sounds illegal. But I'm interested. |
