Idiot's guide to wiring fog (auxiliary) lights

Evening all

For a while I've been thinking of doing this and have been looking for a walkthrough on how to do it.

I scoured this forum and youtube and spent ages working out how to do it. Then I ordered an all-in-one wiring kit...and the trouble really started.

It's a long read but if it helps somebody, then it's been worth it. And anything that makes road life a bit safer is worth doing.

I'm sure people will comment with some more "d'oh" observations, all welcome, the title isn't self-deprecating.
