Hello MadDog and welcome to the best S/W Forum on either side of the pond. Although interesting and quite lengthy we try and keep our experiences to riding and the S/W in general. We have many seniors here including my self. Hope you stay tuned. Howard

MadDog..........Welcome to the forum. I'm not too far from you at Bedlington.  I worked for many years as a mechanic at Mains of Ashington, motorcycle dealer. You may remember it. I've had many jobs myself over the years but always came back using spanners.  Just looking at your long cv you mention Wallsend slipway. My wife's father worked as a welder at Swan's for many years before retiring. He passed away a couple of years ago. I'm also retired these past 2 years. Best job I've ever had also. I had a break from bikes for a lot of years, marriage, kids etc but got myself a Yamaha Dragstar 5 years ago and enjoyed being a biker again ! Just last year I took it in my head to have something a wee bit different and ended up buying my 2014 black Swing with only 463 miles on the clock. Then not long after I got it I started getting some health problems so didn't ride it too much. Just got back riding again now that my health is improving. My mate Barry, from Newbiggin, also has a Swing and we get out together occasionally when the weather is ok. I admit to being a fair weather biker these days ! We'll have to meet up sometime for a ride out and a wee natter.

Hi there Terrier [is that Bedlington] nice know there is some one local , I meet up with a couple of guys [if the weather is good] at the Kings in Seaton Sluice on Sunday morning about 08.45 and we then decide where we are going for breakfast and then off to where ever . You and your mate from Newbiggin? would be more than welcome , a mixed bunch of bikes from superduper BMW down to my Swing , no speed merchants all ride as fast as the slowest guy normally within the speed limits . Trips vary from 100 mls to 160 but we often split up after having had breakfast [ generally in a Wetherspoons] . Hope to see you in the near future ,
