Buddy Crashed His 2009 Swing Yesterday.

He calls me on his way over to go out for a spin and said he couldn't make it.
I figured it was gonna be bad news as soon as he said that.
Sounds like some idjut decided to park in the middle of the round about and my buddy either had to take on the t-bone impact or
set her down. He took a tumble and got some painful looking road rash on his knees and arm. The bump on his head quit bleeding and so he brushed off the amber-lamps. Drove over last nite to look at it and it's pretty much totaled. Forks are bent and so could the frame be sprung. So there goes another 2009 bike on it's way to the grave yard. Besides my buddy being lucky lucky as a futher muck without a helmet on. I hope I don't have to bury him the 3rd time he crashes since his job is digging them.

WE in the UK have to wear a helmet, by law, and most of us wear protective clothing, all year around. Glad your friend is okay but please always wear a helmet.

It's sad about the bike but, at the end of the day, that's just metal and plastic (easy to say I admit). The main thing is that you're mate is ok.

That's a bummer for sure, since we are getting more and more roundabouts in a case like his who do they fault? Good he wasn't hurt any worse. I know here yield to the right is the norm but roundabouts it's yield to the left, something not everyone has caught on to. Strange or funny but our older towns and villages had / have a roundabout like set up, just go left around the statue or flag pole flower bed

we've had roundabouts over here in the uk for ever... but some people are forgetting how tomuse them! glad your mates ok but... next time... put a lid on!

Thank goodness he had witnesses who verified it was the driver of the other car's fault.
Round abouts are new here in town. My buddy love playing on them on his swing and I do too.
But he met his match. I was eating lunch when he called and said he saw a scooter like mine at Hardies on his way to dropping the scoot off at the Honda shop for estimates. Since I was a block away, I rode over and took some shots and look what they had on the showroom floor.

Buggered proper I'd say, again glad he wasn't hurt any worse.

I would recommend that he take the insurance check and go buy something else. There are quite a few used Silverwings for sale out there.

He could buy his bike back from the insurance for not much money and have a great parts bike.

He's not waiting around for the insurance company to get another bike. As a matter of fact he called me lastnite to tell me he already got approved for a 2013 Swing down the street from me at the dealer with 400 miles on it.
They were asking $7,850.00 and talked them down to $7,050.00 after pointing out another 2013 with 4 miles on the other side of the state for $6,999.00 at Lake city honda.
He hopes to buy back his other one for a parts bike and
later to day we are expecting to go riding together after he gets off work and signs the paperwork.

He better hurry because I was just down at the dealer and some guy had his eye on it.
Wouldn't it be his luck, the same scooter sitting on the showroom floor for the last 3 years since he bought his 2009 would be sold off hours before he got there?
