Riding Chicagoland in February

Rode my Swing 95 miles today. It was near 60 degrees in Chicagoland. Rode with my friend who rides a BMW R 1200 RT. Went west from Naperville (Illinois) to Route 47, then north to Elgin and back through St. Charles east to Route 53 and south through Glen Ellyn back to Naperville. Kinda a ride around the western suburbs. Getting to ride at all the end of Feburary in Chicagoland is a gift. I really appreciate the opportunity as it looks like it's going to be in the low 30s next week. Pretty windy (gusts to 40 MPH), but I'm not complaining. Can't wait 'til Spring!

 Yep, was another gift in Chicago. I actually drove home for lunch on Saturday to swap the car for the Swing to ride back in.  That allowed me to take the LONG way home after work Saturday afternoon. Had a computer network issue this morning at work and rather that try and troubleshoot it with my employee on the phone I volunteered to ride in to take a look to get another chance to ride today. Agreed, was a bit windy in the burbs as I am out in the area you were riding but no snow, no freezing weather so woo-hoo, put another 100+ on the odometer!

This was the wrong winter to have my Swing torn apart.

Bob is fixing some broken tabs and doing some rewiring. Still waiting for my Hagon shocks from England. They are suppose to ship next week.

You must be having some major riding withdrawal by now, especially seeing all the bikes out, especially lately in the Chicago area. I know I do when I am not riding on a nice day and I have already logged almost 600 miles in 2016, pretty amazing for a Chicago winter. I even commuted 4 days last week to work and home. The early morning ride in was cold but the evening ride home called for some detour routes, somehow one day after work the ride home was 38 miles longer than the ride in. Never can figure out how that happens, darn rider..., I mean GPS
