| Attached are a few pics of my belt I took when the SWing had 14,500 miles this spring. I did not replace it. By looking at it, could I get some of your opinions on how it looks please? I dont know how it is suppose to look when it does need replaced. Thanks, CnR - Attachments

| I went back to your intro and saw your SWing is a 2009. (It is good to include this information when asking questions) The recommended change is at 16k. Others change it later, but this is their choice. You can research this using the search box. You can also read about going to sliders and changes others have made. You know: "As long as I'm in there." In my opinion (worth the cost of computer power to print it), I would change the 6 to 7 year old belt at the recommended interval and keep the old one for a spare. There are pictorials available here to help. |

| Agree on replacing older bike belt at 16,000 or less. New bikes with miles run up quickly, I go 20,000 miles( 6 months or so)To me walking sucks and so does getting run over as belt breaks while underway. |

| When I bought my 08 SWing last year (April) it had 18,160 miles on it. The belt was changed at 17,700 miles but had been sitting under a tarp for the past two years or so. The belt looked great, as it should with that few miles on it. I rode it for the first couple of months with that belt but the fact that it had been sitting for two years I felt that it might have some hidden dry rot and replaced the belt. I now have this belt vacuum sucked in a Foodsaver bag as a spare. Sure it cost me some money to replace it but I feel it's money well spent to not have the worries about the belt breaking on a ride somewhere. |
