Silver Wing needs new tires.

The guy at the shop tells me so far as scooters go the styles of the tires are all about the same.

Any recommendations so far as brands to use?

Well back on topic, I ended up with Another brand not mentioned here at all. I forgot the name brand already but they do show up on the forum in a search and are also given a good review.

I did not mean to insult anyone about being a hobby rider knowing their stuff vs. a guy like me who only rides to save money on gasoline, I figured that might help some understand where I was coming from nothing more. For example I get the feeling that most of the people here like the Honda Brand name where as I, if I can ever land a better job would be all over a BMW scooter. I like the Wing for sure but it's a bit of a gas hog.

I have agreed with the Site's owner to never again include veiled 'suggestions' about the nature of the reasons others ride Silverwings if only the membership in question will observe common curtsey and respect when responding to any of my postings no matter how dumb anyone might think I am.

I have a good, local DIY/hardware shop. I often find myself in there talking to the staff about something I need to make, do or fix. They are always willing to give advice about the best tool, method or materials for the task.

NEVER has there been a slow intake of breath, a wry smile and the suggestion that, if I don't know, I shouldn't be doing! Had there been, I would not go back.

A forum such as this is much the same. Many join to ask about a problem. They may not use the "correct" form of words, but that doesn't mean they should not be treated with respect.

If you have nothing constructive to add, then add nothing; especially sarcasm. A question may seem "dumb". It doesn't follow that the writer is too!

It seems to me that this thread went sour as a result of one post, from which others followed.

This non-topic would have died a natural death if the OP had stopped posting like jdeereanton suggested earlier, but even after repeated requests to cease and desist, as British comedian Vic Reeves would say, "He wouldn't let it lie."

It's all too easy not to think for yourself these days, just join a forum and use someone else's brains.
