question about windshield

I have a Silver Wing 600 / 2007 and I've seen pictures (I do not remember if it was at this prestigious forum or in the Spanish one) all around the windshield have a black border, like a seal or rubber finish.

I wonder if that comes (or came) factory originally, or if you have added for aesthetic reasons or other reasons.

Could possibly be SAENG edging, but I'm not sure that it will cover the entire circumference of the OEM windscreen.

Yes that's factory original. It won't do any damage if it has been lost, I've seen more than one with that trim piece missing.
I thought you meant the trim piece around the piece below the windshield.

But, is it just something decorative?
