I have not tried to order from Honda, but does any one have or know the source for the tools to R/R the transmission clutch drum.

A couple of members here have been able to remove the clutch bell using a long arm (6-8") three arm gear puller. Dunno if he's still active on this forum, but ToolBoxJesse figured that trick out. You might search the archives for that info.

Thanks for the reply Tim.My real concern is installing the clutch drum back on the shaft. I understand the drum is not extremely tight (for that reason it is retained by a snap ring ) but if you have to tap it back on you are putting strain on the center of the bearing behind it and this is not good. The reason for disassemble is a bearing noise.I think my long trips with heavy loads has taken it's toll. If some one has removed the drum I would like to know how difficult it was to reinstall. Thanks again. Howard

I seen a vid on YouTube.I'm going off hit in head memory (lol) With the real tool it was as easy as turning a wrench.I might have seen or posted the vid here.I'll have a look see.

Use a ~8 inch section of 1 1/2" PVC, a stack of washers and the clutch nut to 'press' the clutch bell on the shaft. PITA, but it works.
