Murph's CCS100(the Audiovox copy) is not suitable for the Silverwing because there is not a vacuum source sufficient for high speeds(above about 65 mph). Even with 2 storage tanks my 2009 bike starts losing speed in a few minutes. At $170.00 it would be nice if it worked. After installing the unit I was determined to make it function correctly because of arthritis and I have done so. I now have a little over $300 invested in it but it worked correctly on a 4,300 mile trip running a true 75 mph most of the time.

I had to add a small vacuum pump as well as a regulator for the pump. If anyone has installed one and you want it to work badly enough as well as to save your investment, then spring for the pump(261140995850) & regulator(370780095355) both on eBay. I bought a -18"Hg pump from thinkitmakeit and the regulator from viot_hvac.

I also had to detect speed with 2 magnets epoxied to the front wheel.

Best to go for the competitive electronic model I think. I have no experience with it and can't be sure.

I usually just used one of those clamp on the hand grip thingy's , but I don't really use them as a cruise control , just to rest my throttle hand and let the feeling come back on long rides , but a real cruise control that worked would be super nice to have on a swing ...

I ordered a Go cruise throttle control. Should get any day now.

Cruise control and throttle control (go cruise) are two different things. I purchased a Go Cruise throttle control a couple of years ago and it is fine for what it is. Don' t expect to maintain speed going up and down hills, but on long flat stretches it allows you to rest your wrist and maintain speed. It's not real useful around town. Smile
