| Having done JohnO'groats last weekend and two weeks hols coming up quick, i am planning my trip to Lands end.
Want to stop at stonehenge, not that there will be much to do there, and maybe dip into wales,Lakes maybe.
Have a as much time as i need but planning on going away for best part of a week just riding and stopping where i fancy.
My m8 will be travelling with me on a 1400 kawaski, hope i dont leave him behind, but i know whos going to be the more comfortable
If anyone knows any must visits please advise
derek |

| Gooffy,
If you have Google Earth or Tyre on your computer then take a look at this. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/89523430/bike8.kml It is a route done by Bike magazine. It is basically a figure of eight with the northern and southern loops meeting at Hawes, (a popular biker meeting place). It avoids motorways. Purely as a suggestion you dould join it at Bonjedward, ride south down to Hawes, then keep going south to Buxton, then head west to Wales. Down through Wales and leave the route at Monmouth, south over the Severn Bridge. After that a bit of planning is needed. My mate and I did the northern loop in September last year. Five days of absolutely brilliant riding. We have yet to do the southern loop but we will sometime. I have the route as .ov2 files for a Tomtom. Don;t know if they could be converted for your SatNav. Let me know what SatNav you have am I'll have a play if you want. Enjoy the planning, just as much fun as the actual riding. Cheers,

| There is now!
Which TomTom are you getting?
Install Tyre (Trace Your Route Everywhere) onto your PC. Can plan and directly load onto your TomTom. Brilliant Software.

| Avebury is far more interesting and less commercialized than Stonehenge and not far from it. Stonehenge is good for a 'ride-past' type look.
There's a good NT shop/café and a lovely shop in the village with all sorts of 'Celtic' stuff for sale. There's an NT car-park (not paved but adequate) just outside the village but we parked in the village street when we were there for Paulc's ride. You'll also probably ride past Silbury Hill - worth a glance. |

| Gooffy,
Usually when TomTom say UK & IRE with Western Europe they mean that only the major roads in Europe are shown, not the detailed street level.
Have a look at this..
http://www.amazon.co.uk/TomTom-Classic-Western-Europe-Countries/dp/B005M2AIY4
Ten pounds cheaper and it is Western Europe.

| Gooffy,
another feature I forgot is Bluetooth. Most car orientated SatNavs won't have it, using an internal speaker instead.
Cheers,

| Gooffy,
I don't think any TomTom has a music player function.
Best deal I can see at the moment is the Go Live 825 from Halfrauds. Quite a bit more than you were originally thinking of paying at £170 but all Europe, Bluetooth. Haven't checked any reviews of this unit - I thought I'd let you do some of the work! Have you looked at Bike8 on Google Earth yet?
Cheers, |

tx for helpin m8 get the kettle on am commin your way in 2 weeks Oh thats a shame, I'm out that day! If you are near Blackpool and drink coffee then by all means pop in. I'll PM you my mobile number. Stereo headset for connecting to an iPhone or other compatible smartphones with a 4-pole 3.5 mm audio socket. - Fine if you can get full communications from the TomTom through the phone. Not sure if a 4 pole (Stereo + Output + Earth) jack works on a 3 pole (Stereo + Earth) socket. Check your PMs Cheers, |

| Just head in the direction of the smell of cider and then the smell of tiddy oggies. Eventually you will run out of road.
If you want to go to the most southerly point of England then you need to go to the Lizard Peninsula, which is to the East of Land's End. (just in case you want to say you have been the the most southerly point).
Cheers,
