| Try guessing what country these pictures were made: as you can clearly see, my Silverwing can't read, 'cause she's on the wrong side of the road... A bit later 'we' arrived at Salperwick. The 'D214' might offer a clue: it is a Route Départementale... Salperwick is a small hamlet near Saint Omer, in Northern France. Very polite people, these Frogs: they address the British motorists in English. 23°C (74°F) on October 22, what a day to ride. I took the Silverwing out to the petrol station, and rode over 120 Miles before getting back home. The fuel gage is now indicating just the same as when I left, so I will need to do this over and over again... |

| It looks like the country of Happiness. Easy to find on a Silver Wing. |

| France has great roads, and little traffic. Great place to drive - must try and get there on 2 wheels sometime |

| I can testify to their great roads, best thing about them is how much less traffic there is on them.
Hoping next year to do the Route des Grandes Alpes. Here are a couple of links that will open in Google Earth.

This is the sixteen passes that comprise the route.

| Not too bothered about getting some good (dry) weather but it is the light evenings I miss. So not really being too optimistic if that respect Doug.
RGA passes are only open May to September most years, closed for the snow most of the year. Some passes are kept open all year but don't want to do some of them, all or nothing!
Cheers, |
