| I am driving to Myrtle Beach this weekend from Atlanta, which is 350 miles each way. Had I thought of it sooner I would have picked up a GoCruise that everyone on the forum seems to rave about, but since I didn't and I couldn't find it at any local MC dealers I was looking for other options. At a chain called Cycle Gear I found a throttle lock called the NEP CC-3 for Hondas for about $20 and it seems to do the trick (it cetainly fits right), although I haven't tested it in the real-world yet.

What I did do after I installed it was slide the grip back about 2mm to make room for the throttle lock, and I glued the grip in place in that position so that it doesn't rub. The glue was drying overnight so I'll give it a try tonight.

| Hi Jesse,
I also use the NEP throttle lock and have for years now.
When you slide the rubber grip back a bit, try just a little grease between the end weight and the grip, were it now rubs. I also used a little black electrical tape around the stabilizer tab between the two cables. Keeps it from moving around.
This helps keep the world right and you only need to do this once. |

| Thanks Dennis! I'll give it a try.

P.S. I still plan to get my electronic cruise control working one of these days. I am waiting for cooler weather. |

| You should be riding your scooter rather than driving it!
NEP works fine---I think tape to hold in place good idea. I drilled and use nylon tie.
Forget electric cruise----I owned bike with OEM electronic control---Kawsaki 1200 Voyager, purchased new--could be real killer in wet/slippery conditions. computer can give shot of gas just when not needed. I prefer staying in control of bike/scooter. |

| Oh I would never use CC in the wet. That's just common sense.

| I have used NEP on my old Goldwing and now on the Swing. Great value.

| I tried it on the highway for the first time today. It's going to take me some time to get used to not riding with my hand on the throttle, but it was fun when I passed a car that was blowing blue smoke from the exhaust pipe and I pantomimed "stinky" with my right arm. I set the pressure tight enough to hold the throttle but loose enough to make some fine adjustments. Hopefully this will work. Jesse Ackler |

| I used it for most of my 650+ trip from Atlanta to Myrtle Beach and back. It worked great, except it was a PITA to have to adjust it every few seconds when I was driving over the hilly terrain in order to maintain a constant speed.
Well worth the $20, if just to surprise the other bikers I passed and waved with my right hand ;-).
I definitely want to get the electronic cruise control working this fall though, and then I'll pass this throttle lock down to my Reflex.
