Rode up to the IL Railway Museum in Union, IL today.

They had RPO Days (Railway Post Office). My father-in-law used to ride the trains back in the day when the post office used the trains for mail delivery. We met my in-laws there. They ran different trains all day. One being the RPO car where they would have a mail bag on a crane for the retired postal workers to pick up the bag of mail while the train was moving. They would throw or kick out a bag of mail also for that particular stop. Which doesn't make sense since they don't stop.

Thay also had Union Pacific Family Day. It was crowded and a 90 plus day. All in all it was a nice 110 mile round trip ride and my 83 year old father-In-law made the catch. Oh and did I mention Bob is a big rail fan.

Getting ready to go to Knoxville, TN next Saturday for a week. I always have good intentions.
