| High winds down south right now Old Limey! Garage doors are bouncing at the moment. Glad I don't have to go out and even attempt to open them.
Scotland took quite a hit last week. Glad I'm not living up there anymore. |

| The temp was 28F and freezing fog when I left for work this morning. Overpasses had frost on the road surface. I thought I was doing well when I finished my 30 mile commute till I turned off onto the side street to where I park. There were some pot holes with water in them. Cars had run over them, breaking the surface ice and splashing the water off to each side...which of course froze as well.
I cross a sidewalk to a covered parking area at the end of that street. There was about a 10-foot wide portion of frosted over road to ride over before getting over the bump at the curb and the parking area.
This was not a commute to relax and look at the scenery.

| I have been out on the Swing 10 of the last 14 days (one of the many benefits of retiring this year), half of which have been blue sky and sunshine with the temperature around 6C. Quite unusual for this time of year in the Lower Mainland BC where rain and wind and on occasion snow usually dominate December. Twice I crossed the US/Canada boarder and visited the Mt Vernon area of the Pacific Northwest, WA. (One of my favourite areas to ride especially over at the coast).
Just have to be careful when riding in the cooler temperatures and mentally prepare for the areas where black ice could be present (bridge decks, changes in surfaces and shady areas).
My goal this year is to continue riding through the good days of winter and not put the Swing into hibernation. God and weather willing! |

| I bought a insulated rain suit here: www.motorcyclegear.com/street/raingear/1_pc_suits/nelson_rigg/ar_400_arctic_1_piece_insulated_rain_suit.html and have been riding down into the teens and twenties lately! Very unlike me to do that! Keeps me surprisingly toasty |
