Just so you know

Hi Gang:

This is likely of interest but to a chosen few. Just a short note (yeah, right!!) to let you know that we've just changed the moniker for our Silver Wing conversion from the original "S'Winger" to the "UltraWing" model.

I actually wanted to call it the most obvious name -- "TriWing" but the nice folks over in Canada already use that label for thier company and IP domain. And even though they are out of country and don't apparently use it for the name of a specific model, we didn't want to cause any confusion.

Ergo, I came up with S'Winger for a name several months ago.

When pronounced as intended (i.e. "ess wing er") the problem is not obvious at first (obviously!!). But I just got this very helpful email from one of my Canadian dealers who said:

Having an apostrophe in a word for searching may not be the best idea and also using a word that can be deemed part of the porn or sex area of the Internet may not be too wise.

"Holy Google Search, Batman!!"

I was using the Internet since the days when Al Gore was dodging the draft (long before it became the Internet actually), so I certainly should have caught that myself.

Bad enough to have the apostrophe screwing up the search ability, but when you remove it, you wind up with the keyword "swinger" which pulls up about 19.2 million references extolling the you-know-what lifestyle. Clearly, few if any have to do with super scooters of any kind!!

As those who actually know us can testify, Richard and I are anything BUT "swingers" -- so off goes "S'Winger" in favor of the UltraWing.

Hey, if it was easy, everybody would be doing it!!

I like the UltraWing moniker.

Letting the group know here too... I got the fenders today and wheels due any day as well from California. I am gonna be UltraWinging very soon.

I like the name UltraWing. Ultra long wait, but I hope it's well worth it.

I looked for that old thread where you asked for name suggestions. I couldn't find it, but as I remember there were a couple of them that were pretty unique. Did you ever try to influence Bob any? :flower:

Yeah, I thought we had some good ones suggested, but since our poll was just for fun and I don't have the keys to the front door of Trinity Trike, Bob chose the S'Wing. He's just a dirty dog. I have no influence on anyone on this planet. Even my cat does her own thing. I surely won't bring up my wife and kids.

Seriously, I do like the "UltraWing" moniker.
