Heated Clothing at Silly Prices Empty
PostSubject: Heated Clothing at Silly Prices   Heated Clothing at Silly Prices I_icon_minitimeSat Dec 11, 2010 2:25 pm

Whilst on my travels today I happend to call in at my local branch of Maplins Electronics, mainly to check to see if they'd got any more 'Flux Capacitors' in stock (no such luck), but while I was there I spotted a whole heap of heated clothing items:

Gloves, body warmer type garments, fleeces, hats (?) and insoles for boots/shoes. The prices ranged from £10 - £20, but before you all go charging off to find them on the net (and they are available inc free delivery) bear in mind that they are BATTERY powered!

I had a look at the gloves, which looked rather like motorcycle overgloves, but with a dirty great battery box on the back of each wrist, taking 3 AA size batteries each. The Gillet used 6 AA batteries, so with a little bit of care and some alternate wiring you could run the jacket and gloves off the bike!

At a total cost of less than £35 that seems good value to me, esp as the reviews are good. The nearest I kind find to these are from my trade account suppiers and they want twice as much!

Shout up anybody who decides to get some as well, should be worth the effort in the long run.
