Can anyone recommend any rear shocks over OEM?

There were a few who had used a small section of PVC pipe that was sized to fit around the barrel of the shock and between the spring and the spring seat. This added a bit of additional stiffness to the rear. I don't have time to do the search today, but you might try a search on this site for "Spacer" or something similar.

Rear shocks that are somewhere in the neighborhood of $1,000 plus shipping?

Well, hold me back, I must have some of those.

Honda's rear shocks are (2 x $159.36) == 318.72.
Honda's rear shocks cannot be rebuilt ... just discarded.
Honda's rear shocks are just basic shocks which do not last that long.

Wilber shocks are award winning shocks, even beating Ohiln shocks. One of key advantage .. the Wilber shocks are rebuildable (without shipping overseas) and I believe they have a 5 year warranty.

Since I put enough miles on my Silverwing ... the Wilber shocks could be a better and cheaper alternative for me. I am waiting for the group buy for Wilber shocks in the www.advrider.com forum to order mine.

BTW the Honda shocks would even be in worse shape without the Darkside tire absorbing a lot of the shock.

Well just exactly how long do they last? I understand they can't be rebuilt, but give me a mileage or time when you say they don't last that long.

Well there ya have it, I could be the envy of my friends. Oh wait they don't actually care.

5 year warranty? My cheap stock shocks have lasted that long and didn't cost near the price of the Wilber.

Supposition.

Is the price listed above for a set of Wilber shocks or per shock?

Messing with you Bill. Smile

For me I'd say that the Wilber shocks, if price is not an issue would seem to be a good option.

And you get some kind of award... Smile

Tab "Federbeine"

Second X signifies TWO shocks for the price.
