| Hi All!
I'm Jordan, I live in Illinois, in the Greater St. Louis area. I have a 2004 silver Silver Wing that I've been riding for about 8 years after several years on motorcycles and smaller scooters. I've got about 60,000 miles on it. In that time I have frequently used these forums for maintenance advice.
This year I found a fork seal leak when doing my regular beginning of season maintenance, so I decided if I was going to take off some of the plastics, I might as well take them all off, visually inspect everything and replace every consumable item. It's been a fun process.
Finally I had a question I couldn't have an answer for, on the forums so it was time to join up! |

| Welcome to the forum. Most topics are covered if you use the search bar above. If you have the time and inspiration then I would say remove all the plastic. You'll get a good idea of how the SW is put together and you may discover some other items which may have been neglected.
It might give you an insight into hidden parts which you could replace while you're in there. I'm only saying this because it's what I did. It gave me a chance to future-proof any items along the way.
I also learned that I can remove the front forks without removing any plastic. Something which I have done a couple of times since looking under the covers in the first place.
Please feel free to ask any questions you may encounter. |

| Welcome on board Jordan! For all things Swing and a lot more besides.
Making friends with the search bar will be an asset. Failing that just start a new post. Here's a link to a few important PDF's. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1cpsqEmvlpa4A4qDPLVGbqlwMfpqnZ0EM
Hope this helps. Be safe, be seen! Hi-Vis and LED's are your friends, ear buds and headphones killed loud pipes.

Please feel free to ask any questions you may encounter. Yep! I removed all the plastics to visually inspect everything, found a cracked spark plug boot and a few other small surprises. I've been riding it for about 6 years and doing maintenance, but I finally had enough items on the to-do list to justify fully stripping her down. |
