Hello all. Been lurking forums for years. I have a 2004 Silver wing, have had it for 7 years or so.

The past few years I had it stored at a buddy's, not riding it. This year I decided to get the scooter back up and running.

Two days ago I got it fully functional, changed the necessary fluid, a few parts swapped out. All good and back on the road, feeling good in the summer.

I park on the street for one hour, come back from shopping and see the scooter gone. Called impound lots no luck. Told the police its gone. One hour later they call me back saying its spotted abandoned at a park not far from where I was. Get there and the ignition cover is broken to hell and it looks like they tried to hot wire it.

It still starts and runs but sometimes I think God is trying to tell me my two wheel days are over.

Death to all thieves or failing that just cut their thieving hands off,,,,,,,,,

Rant over sorry to hear of your recent event, thats bad luck! Best to have a lock of some sort on the bike , just to deter the scum stains that thinks its ok to lay their mitts on someone elses stuff.

I guess the vermin have shorted the wires from the starter switch, trace the wires from the loom on the handlebars and hopefully you will find their mod.
