PostSubject: Back again   Back again I_icon_minitimeSat Jul 22, 2017 12:49 am

Greetings, all. I bought a 2002 SWing back in 2011 or so and rode it until 2016, when I sold it on consignment. It had about 37K on it when I sold it. I still see the new owner riding it around town occasionally.

I sold the SWing because I decided it was important to get back into "regular" motorcycling again. I bought a Suzuki C50, an 800cc V-twin. The C50 was a nice motorcycle, pretty comfortable, good power and handling, but I rediscovered the fact that riding a relatively heavy (650 lb) manual transmission machine, particularly in traffic, was actually work. Always being concerned with being in the right gear at the right time and having difficulties with my ankles and knees manipulating the gear shift lever and rear brake added to the problems. So the C50 is also being sold.

I also have a Burgman 400 and I like it, but I really regretted selling the SWing, so I found another here locally and bought it. Glad to be back on a SWing again, so I'll resume hanging around here a bit.

I'm in the Sacramento, California area.

Welcome back Jinglebob.

I too commuted to London on a C50 but got shot due to an issue with water in the starter switch gear so it kept breaking down or not starting if it rained. Later discovered the right switchgear (taken from a GSX or similar had a dodgy run)

I also grounded the floorboards regularly cornering

The chromework took a hammering from road salt.
These aside I did find it a great bike.

I miss my B400 but the silverwing is definitely addictive & a better engine size etc

Thank you for the welcome back!

Yep, those are photos of the previous machine. I'll be putting some new ones in as time progresses.

Working on putting on a Givi AirFlow and a Monolock topcase base. I also have to replace the seat strut, as it doesn't hold the seat open.

When I lost my 2005 to an accident, I was debating whether to go back to a SWing ! I want to get to know as many models of Honda 2-wheelers as possible ! and I have not much time. I was lusting after a 1988 PC800, but thru the winter, I did not see it on Kijiji so i thought it was gone. I went for another SWing, a 2007 with low miles ( US bike) and I am thoroughly enjoying it. And then.... this week, that same PC 800 is back on Kijiji !!! Now, if only .....
Jay.

Jay,

I've been wanting a PC800 as well. If this one you point out on Kijiji In Edmundston, actually has 16,000 kms on it, that price may not be too bad. When you pick it up, please give us your impressions.

Mike, that's the one! If only I could afford another one. If only my VT1100T sold !
I thought the guy sold it last winter; but he must have just let the ad expire. Had I known it would be in my stable now.
Jay.
