| Hi,
My 2005 SW is in dire need of tires. First time I change them (and yes I really need to).
I did some reading in the forum and decided to look into the Bridgestone Hoop, Pirelli Diablo (intrigued) and even Metzeler because I used them on other bikes and generally liked them.
However, I did some searching in the net and I couldn't find anyone that had them in stock! So are the SW tires another victim of the overall shortage we are suffering lately?
If I can't get a recommendation from the forum I guess I'll just start calling places to see if they can be special ordered. Maybe it's just that these tires must be special order.
Best Regards and Thanks, Chris

| 120/80/14 front 150/70/13 rear. Try Ebay or Amazon seems to many different listings for these tire sizes.
Metzeler Roadtec are good tires. You don't need to open an account just use a credit card. Amazon will give you $ 50 bucks off when you do open a credit card with them. Like everything else prices are UP. I'm glad I purchased a set last year saved some $. |

| My local MC dealer can source and get pretty much any tire I want assuming they are out there somewhere. I guess that's why I pay a little more to keep him in business. |

| Thanks everyone for the replies. I am going to talk to a local shop that offered to sell me tires. Lets see what they can get, but I still have my list of tires I will go with. As I mentioned, lifting the good old phone (well, pushing a button these days) and calling may yield positive outcome.

| You can't go wrong with the OEM Hoops tire (at least OEM here in Canada).
I second Mr. G on the Michelin Power Pure SC tires. They are my go to tire now for both of our scoots. |

| You might want to try Shinko tires . I have a Shinko in front with 7000 mi. and it still looks less than half worn. Also have a Michelin City grip in back ,same mileage and still looks less than half worn. I like the feel of this set up. |

| I've been running Shinko SR567/568 for aprox. 3k miles(US) on my SW without issues or noticeable wear, I like to set my pressures high at 30F and 36R, it works best on bias tires, IME. I easily expect well over 6k, I do drive fairly aggressive and we use lot's of crushed sea shells in our asphalt country roads, really eat up tires. |
