Rear pads EBC Organic SFA196 Empty
PostSubject: Rear pads EBC Organic SFA196   Rear pads EBC Organic SFA196 I_icon_minitimeMon May 02, 2022 12:55 pm

I've just replaced the rear pads on my 2008 ABS silverwing. The original pads had the metal backing that clips to the back of the pad and the fibre shim fitted. When I load all these up my EBC SFA 196 pads it makes the pads to thick to fit, even with the caliper pistons pushed fully back.

To get the pads in, I've had to omit the fibre shim on both sides, now I'm wondering if EBC ever intended the the metal backing and fibre shim to be fitted.

Anyone else had this issue?

I had the same problem when fitting EBC organic pads, (along with new EBC discs). I left the extra 'shims' out when fitting the EBC pads but I did have some strange clicking noises from the front brake.

So I changed the pads back to OEM but keeping the EBC discs. Of course, I was able to use the extra 'shims' when fitting the OEM pads.

I've still got the clicking noise but I just ignore it and it goes away Shocked
