Hi,

Hi, i'm the middle of servicing my bike and have replaced the rear pads. I've had the caliper off to clean and regrease the sliders amd on re assembling I've realised the rear caliper mounting bolt torque settings are not given in my manual. Does anybody know the torque setting.

2008 Silverwing with ABS

Thanks

Check Module 1 (General Information) of your FSM.  There should be several pages of torque values for various fasteners on your scoot.  The caliper torque values should be there too.

The only manual I have I downloaded from this site but its more an instruction manual as opposed to a workshop manual. It's does have some torque settings ( sump plug, oil filter etc), but the brakes section doesn't even tell you how to replace the pads, it just says ' go to you Honda dealer'.

With previous bikes ive always had Haynes manuals
But there doesn't seem to be anything around for the silverwing

Don't know what kind of manual you downloaded.  Here's what is published in my 2009 official Honda FSM.  I hope it helps.

Are you sure you're not looking at the 'handbook'?

MY FSM 2002 - 2013 shows the same as above thumbs up

Parking brake bolts are a onetime use bolts but I've replaced many a rear tire and still using same ones.
Bolts bottom flush in mount to clear the rotor so use a little blue Loctite and carefully torque them.

22 lbf. same as rear caliper.
