| I am changing oil and filter on 2008 Swing with 5K miles. This is what I see underneath? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. I am going to go ahead with change and clean underneath really well and monitor it. Cannot download photo. Says too big. Underneath by drain and engine guard is oily. Also to the right of fill cap? Checked level. Still super clean oil and on the correct line. Thanks. D |

| Stator cover most likely. Wire harness goes into engine for the charging system those tend to leak. O-ring on drain plug should be replaced once in awhile too. It's been covered many times here. |

| Draining the engine oil always get oil on the engine guard. I usually push a paper towel between the engine and the guard for about five minutes then remove it. Wipe up any areas near the drain cap any oil filter that has oil visible. |

| Most likely the stator wire gromit thing. So many do it I think its a Honda design feature to give the underside a protective misting of oil! I'm just ignoring mine till it either becomes a drip or starts consuming a meaningful quantity of oil. Or I get really, really bored and require some garage time over next winter. |

| I have a 2002 swing and it it began dripping from underneath and I spent some time trying to track it down. Was not filler or filter. Not water pump. After removing a lot of plastic I discoed it was coming from the stator wiring harness area. It is annoying but I am going to wait and tackle this after riding season. has not affected my oil level. |

| I have the same problem but it doesn't actually 'drip' onto the ground. I just give a clean underneath every now and then and keep an eye on the oil level.
It's a job I'll probably get around to but it can wait. It hasn't gotten any worse in the 6 years I've had my SW.
BTW, if you open the images in MS Paint (not Paint 3D) you can reduce the image size without losing any clarity. I normally change the pixel size from 100% to about 20 or 30% whilst keeping aspect ratio 'ticked'. |
