| Picked up a 2008 low mileage Siiverwing a few weeks ago. The former owner let it sit over a year, so it's just come out of the shop. New tires, oil and filter, front end adjustment. Thankfully the techs didn't find anything wrong with the machine (you know how buying used can be) and it runs terrific on the high performance tires. Aside from some minor scrapes and scratches, it seems to be in pretty good shape cosmetically. Haven't got a chance to really ride it yet, but I am looking for ideas for some mods on it, including adding a GPS and cup holder.

| Hi grumpythings,
Welcome to the site.
As is always suggested to new S'wingers here, get to know the scoot for a while before adding 'stuff' just for the sake of adding it...……….it's not a Christmas Tree, you don't 'have' to hang stuff on it.

| Welcome grumpythings to the BEST SWing site on the net.
Like Donie said. Ride it a while before deciding on doing mods to it. You might just find that it runs fine just the way it is. These are great scoots and don't really need much in the line of performance mods. Maybe a topbox would work for extra stuff but that's about it.
I have an 08 SWing and about the only thing I did was trike it out with a Motor Trike kit about 3 years ago. It cost about $8,000 total but I have no regrets. It was a learning curve for sure tho learning how to ride it. |

| I have an '08 too. I've added a Kaoko throttle lock, mirror and a Givi top box. It had a Givi airflow windshield when I got it. Also wired a 12V outlet in the left hand cuddy box with an inline fuse of 10A. I replaced the light in the under seat area with an LED which gives a lot more light and uses about 25% of the current drawn by the original bulb. I have a drink holder that I need to get around to installing. I have a spare belt on hand but at 16k miles it'll be awhile before I'll need to install that. Probably won't be until late next fall. I might switch to Dr Pulley variator sliders later on this year and that will probably all I'll do to it. Fine little scooter. |

| Grumpy Things, ride your stock Scooter for a while, you had it services, new tires so ride. The Stock Silverwing was set up perfect for long durability. I do recommending taking the light bulb out of the trunk. This normally is what runs your battery down. |

| Welcome aboard the board grumpthings!
What "high performance tires" did you put on your machine and what kind of a "front end adjustment" did the techs perform? |

| Tires should be right size/right load rating/right speed rating. I hope they are. |
