| No originality claimed here, but, as my wife is away for a few days on the South Coast I have evenings free & a garage with machine tools that largely go unused, I have taken the oppertunity to perform a nice little engineering excercise & make a wedding present for a fellow UK SilverWing owner. A few pic's (all stainless steel except the Bakerlite ball) .. Standoff .. Standoff after second operation with 'boomerang' mounting screw .. 'Boomerang' (prior to finishing) .. Ball mount .. Ball turning .. Finished assembly .. |

| Very similar to the ones Dennis B used to make and sell on here. I am guessing you could sell them on this forum if you chose to do so! Nice job!!! |

| Thanks guys Not looking to sell any, this was made from bits I had laying in my 'stock' drawers, left over from projects in the past. |

| Bern,
you beauty, Many many thanks for this but I wish I hadn't logged on as I now feel like I've peaked before santa arrived.
Should've waited for my post to arrive.

| Very nice work. Stainless is harder to machine. Professional job. Never have to worry about rust. |

| I wish I had the workshop and knowledge to make something as nice. Over the years I got away from looking down or at a screen and used only a Bluetooth with earbuds. I like listening to music (Pandora) And at this point, I am waiting for some riders to say NO NO NO. Blah, blah.

| I too like listening to music or whatever. Assembled some bolts, nuts and small plate to mount a ram ball. Mounted Garmin Zumo 550 with XM antenna. I'm wireless Bluetooth to helmet speakers. Its a lot more expensive for all things needed but works great. Not using any phone data but I can use XM in all vehicles so its ok.

| My mount is not so nice as yours but it works . I made it according to the manual available on this forum. It is a relatively easy job to be made in one hour. What is need is two screws, a piece of alu flat bar and alu pipe plus of course a standard RAM mount. The entire construction is very solid and durable. You can mount a smartphone or GPS unit. I checked it in practice and it works perfectly. |
