I want to take my Silverwing on some semi-offroad trails, and I am having zero luck finding dual sport tires that are the same size as stock Silverwing tires. Has anyone found dual-sport tires in alternate sized that work?

Not sure what you mean by dual sport, but I'm guessing you are looking for a tyre with a tread pattern, so that it grips rather than sticks ? If so these are available in Silverwing sizes (this side of the water at least) all rated for year round use ....

Before you waste money on tires-----try the SilverWing on gentle trails....you will find it is a heavy, poorly balanced pig----long, hard to turn around, hard to pick up, etc, drags bottom easily, expensive to fix, etc.

Probably your best bet are winter tires from Europe, where winter tires are required-----US most people only ride scooter as toy.

I'm not surprised, why would a tyre manufacturer have ADV bike type tyres in sizes to fit the Silver Wing, or any other similar sized maxi scooter that was never designed for off road use.

My Silver Wing is fitted with those Continental ContiMove 365 tyres pictured above, and they do have quite an aggressive tread pattern.

Only they're all season tyres with a rubber compound containing silica so they remain more pliable in cold weather conditions than normal 'summer tyres'. The tread pattern is designed to grip better in snow, and the tread sipes to disperse surface water.

So in European countries that make fitting winter tyres mandatory during the winter months, the ContiMoves are an all year round alternative.

Personally I have no desire to take them further off road than maybe the odd patch of damp grass.

I agree the Silver Wing is not designed to be a adventure bike! Mild dirt roads are OK but anything worse are something I avoid! The best tires would not help much as the machine is just not designed for that stuff.

I did some unintentional off roading when French farmers decided to cover the rural road with their potato field .  Not fun and I couldn't recommend it whatever the tyres !

I think if you want off road potential then a custom build would be in order.

Would a 17" X-ADV wheel  fit between s'wing forks???

I can't recall the brand but there was a company did chunky tyres for my Suzuki address 110

If you REALLY want to off-road, buy a KLR or something!!!

Amen, off roading with the S'Wings drive line system isn't something I would care to do, give me gears and a clutch friction zone, BTDT.

It depends on what sort of 'mild trail' you're looking at doing. A typical hard packed dirt road looks bad, but it pretty easy for 'normal tyres' to grip too. Same with dry rocky stuff, so long as you respect the limited ground clearance of these fat beasts.

If you're talking about wet grass or mud on a tarmac road, then you're going to have issues whatever the tyre. Even the Michelin Enduro Competitions on my enduro bike can struggle on these surfaces, since both surface can stop even the biggest knobbles from digging in, so you just slide about on the surface. Almost as bad as wet chalk on Salisbury Plain.

So in one case road tyres will be pretty good, while in the later even completion knobblies won't be much more help.

Personally I'd stick with some European winter tyres. I rather like Heidenau K66 on my other bikes, as they give excellent wet grip. Planning to put them on my Swing soon.

Low ground clearance , lots of plastic (to get broken) , too heavy , close front mudguard , no clutch , poor suspension ....................this list just gets longer.

The SWING was meant to fly on the highways not die in the byways!!!!!

Get a grip and buy a trail bike if you want to trail and leave the SWING in the garage.
