Tires--SilverWing 600 Empty
PostSubject: Tires--SilverWing 600   Tires--SilverWing 600 I_icon_minitimeWed Dec 16, 2015 11:17 am

Tires/tire combination.  After recent screw in rear tire, determined by me to be not repairable on maybe 2-3000 miles left on thread=new rear tire for me, this time Bridgestone Hoop, with Michelin Power Pure on front.

This combo seems to work ok.  I bought Bridgestone as it was what local dealer had in stock.  I know matched sets probably work better.

SilverWing once Bridgestone as OEM, my 2009 had them=worked ok.  My 2013 leftover came with IRC=worked ok, I especially liked the IRC front, it lasting 25,000 miles and worked well with replacement rear Michelin Power Pure.

Now I am not worried with present Bridgestone on rear   BUT in past have had Bridgestone Scooter tires fail ---one on Helix in Japan, 2 on Reflex in US.   All thread related on rear, none caused me to go down, caught them before they could have flown apart   But something to think about.

My 2¢: Maybe the high wheel speed on the Reflex 12" rear or the 10" rear Helix tire contributed to those failures. Certainly never a good thing to have tread failure though.

Fact: rear tires on Helix for entire production run were J rated---62 mph---downhill tailwind Helix could reach and exceed 70mph. Always worry factor for me. Had 4 new Helix and 175,000 miles with them.....but they were nice scooters and I enjoyed them.
