| Hello All,
My name is Shane, I live in Charlotte, NC, USA. Brand new to riding and I just bought myself an '04 Silverwing. I've had it for about a week and so far it is such a joy to ride. Hope to chat with you all over time about the good, the bad and the ugly of riding.
Nice to meet you all, Shane |

| Wine red? If so, I think my first one was an '04.
You could not have made a better choice of bike, Shane. I've had lots, motorcycles and scooters, but there is no better do-it-all bike than a Silver Wing. It's got enough locking storage, enough power, smoothness... it even leans over really well.
Welcome from Chicago. |

| Greetings All, Took delivery of a 2002 Black Silver Wing last night. It was owned by an older gentleman in the Dallas area and has been garaged for the past 15 years. Only had 179 miles on it! Spent the morning cleaning and polishing it and she shines like the top of the Chrysler building. I have always owned Hondas dating back to my first bike which was a 1968 Candy Apple Red Scrambler 90. Also have a 2004 VTX 1800C which is in mint condition, but at age 66 800 pounds of bike is getting to be a lot to handle. First thing I realized on the Wing is I definitely had to take the back rest off. At 6'4" it pushes me way too far forward. Now I am looking at aftermarket seats or re-upholstering the factory seat to get rid of the brackets for the backrest. They aren't very comfortable on the backside. Second thing is I will definitely be replacing the stock windshield as it is not nearly tall enough. Anyway, hope to make some new friends and gain valuable insight into some of the ways to go about improving the Scoot. I live in Fredericksburg, Virginia. |

| BSKB, Make sure that you replace both tires. Flush the brake and antifreeze. The belt should also be replaced. If you didn't change the oil and filter, change it along with the drive oil (same as motor oil used). Use the search function to look at backrest mods others have done. Most members recommend the GIVI AF214. You can try looking at the KAPPA AF214. It is the same windshield.

It is the same windshield. It's not the Kappa AF214, it's the Kappa KAF 214. |

| Kinda like typin' back rest instead of backrest? Or sayin' Givi top box when Givi calls it a top case, eh? Just to make sure IF he orders, it is KAF214, no space. It's guid to be edumacated. |

| Welcome. Shane to the best SWing site on the net. Your insight about the seat back is an example of the best advise I've gotten about my 2013. That is, ride till you find something you need changed and, only then search for suggestions and solutions. They are here. Happy riding. Blain |
